"I think AFS is a good deal for an independent Rep. I have been with AFS Brokerage since November of 2000. At AFS Brokerage, the Rep has access to all the top products at good commission splits since AFS Brokerage is in the bank channel, especially on the fixed products where you can get 90% of the GA commission without the volume commitment to each carrier. Since there are no proprietary products at AFS Brokerage, there is no constant push to sell these products of which some may not be suitable for the client. The fees to the Registered Reps are very reasonable. E & O at most other broker-dealers is twice as much as AFS Brokerage charges.

At AFS Brokerage, you can talk to senior management directly and solve issues quickly. Previously, I was at a broker-dealer that was owned by an insurance company with 3000 Reps. Even though I was one of the top 70 Reps in the firm, I had to go through the bureaucracy to solve simple issues. √   You have the right to expect that our staff will come to know you on a first name basis.

√   You have the right to expect confidentiality in all of our dealings with you.

√   You have the right to expect to reach a live person at AFS from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central time every business day.

√   You have the right to expect that your e-mails and voicemail messages will be acknowledged the same day or no later than the next business day.

√   You have the right to expect a 10-business day or less turnaround for advertising items submitted for review.

√   You have the right to expect a timely accounting of all of your revenues received at AFS reported to you on a semi-monthly basis.

√   You have the right to voice your opinion and have that opinion heard by management.

√   You have the right to a Transition Team at AFS that will help you transition your business efficiently and easily.

√   You have a right to expect that your Relationship Manager will call you every day during your transition period or until you are comfortable with every process.

√   You have the right to take ANY unresolved problems directly to our CEO and have them promptly reviewed.

Independent Representatives

A panel of advisers from diverse parts of the country assembles in a designated location for formal and informal discussions to help us deliver even more value to you and all our clients. The length of service for our advisers is staggered to ensure we always have a fresh supply of new ideas and insight.

Even with this promise spelled out in black and white, you will want to know if you "feel comfortable" with the people who provide the service.
